The Challenge
Michael was approached to support DBM in the uplift of their browser-based visualizer product, an interface that allows management, engineers, and specialist fabricators to view and interact with 3D construction models and their associated data. The existing interface needed improvements to screen real estate usage, tool organization, and overall usability.
Our Solution
We developed a baseline design system and refreshed visual language to elevate the Visualizer platform experience. Through a structured process that heavily involved DBM staff and end users, we identified refinements while respecting established workflows and existing functionality.
Implementation Approach
The uplifted 'Visualizer' product saw a significant improvement to screen real estate, flexibility, and a clearer distinction between tools and menu items. As part of this refresh, we also introduced a suite of new features from a sister application, and planned out additional collaboration features to better connect team members.
