Cargo Guardian needed to transform complex load restraint engineering calculations into a mobile-first platform that field workers could use confidently on the job. The challenge was twofold: create beautifully designed, intuitive interfaces that made complex calculations feel simple, while building a robust enterprise platform with offline capability, license management, and secure payment handling. The product needed to work seamlessly for drivers, supervisors, and loaders in real-world conditions with potentially poor connectivity.
We applied a design-led approach to problem solving, starting with extensive UX research and iterative design workshops to deeply understand how users would interact with the Direct Restraint Calculator and Tie Down Calculator in the field. Through wireframing, prototyping, and real-world usability testing, we crafted an interface that makes complex load safety calculations intuitive and even enjoyable to use. The result is a product people genuinely love using - beautifully designed with attention to every detail.
Our end-to-end platform development delivered a Progressive Web App with offline-first architecture, ensuring reliability in areas with poor connectivity. The solution includes secure authentication, enterprise license management for organisations to allocate users, and integrated payment handling via Stripe. The Direct Restraint and Tie Down Calculators feature intuitive input flows, clear results presentation, actionable recommendations, and PDF sharing capabilities. We built the backend on modern cloud infrastructure with a scalable API architecture, positioning the platform for future growth including potential AI-based image recognition and integration with measurement tools. Automated testing ensures front-end and back-end integrity, while the PWA delivery model means users can install directly from the browser without app store friction.
