APRA Prudential Standards
CPS 234 - Information Security This standard requires APRA-regulated entities to maintain information security capabilities commensurate with the size and extent of threats to their information assets. AI systems that process, store, or transmit financial data are information assets under CPS 234.

CPS 230 - Operational Risk Management (effective from 1 July 2025) This newer standard strengthens requirements around operational resilience, including technology risks. AI is firmly within scope.

ASIC Regulatory Requirements
RG 271 - Internal Dispute Resolution If AI makes or influences decisions that affect customers (insurance claims, credit assessments, product recommendations), your internal dispute resolution processes must be able to handle complaints about those decisions.

- Your IDR team needs to understand how AI decisions are made

ASIC Information Sheet 267 - Responsible Use of AI in Financial Services ASIC expects firms to use AI responsibly and has flagged areas of focus including:
